Gormiti Elemental Fusion
In 2009 at Giochi Preziosi they must have thought "What's the best way to update a non-articulated minifigure toy?" Not the articulation apparently (well, at least not for this series)
but a little electronic chip embedded in the foot of the figure. What for? To permit the toys to talk!
That's right, every sculpt has one (except the Magic Eggs exclusives, for obvious reasons: water + electronic stuff = bad) and when you place it on top of the Altar of Life, you can hear your toy shouting a different sentence, nothing new but a neat little feature if you ask me. Worth noting is the paint, no more shiny but opaque, and no more dynamic poses if not for the Lord. We have the usual list of tribes: Earth, Forest, Sea, Air and Volcano. A good number of exclusives were sold, the magazine stands have 5 figures with translucent parts: Il Mutevole Sandis, Bu Bamboo, Mollusco, Freccialata, Furia Lavica (not new sculpts but recast of figures sold in stores), 3 figures came only with the Altar of Life base: Il Mutevole Sandis, Mollusco, Pignavex and 5 figures were sold in Magic Eggs: Terremots, Barbamaglio, Corallor, Papillus, Fiammartiglio. Add these to the 27 sold in toy stores and we have 40 new gormiti for this collection. The usual blind bags, 3-packs, 2-packs and playsets have flooded the stores. Down the road 4 new sculpts were added to the series, each one representing a little kid who, in the cartoon I believe, should transform in one of the Lord (Earth, Forest, Sea and Air only).
